GOING PLACES

newHope was born from the desire and commitment of a small group of people to go and love the people of Kellyville and surrounding suburbs. You could say that going places is in our DNA as a church… Perhaps Jesus said it best when He said:

Let me tell you why you are here. You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavours of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. Shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

Here are five simple and practical ways we continue our passion and commitment to going places both as a church family and as individual followers of Jesus.

GO SUNDAYS

On the first Sunday of every month we GO instead of gathering. It’s about making extra time and space to connect with people beyond newHope, strengthening relationships and seeking to share God’s grace and goodness with others.

REPLY

REPLY is a simple framework for living as a mission-shaped follower of Jesus. We encourage the people of newHope to regularly practice REPLY as a way of intentionally and effectively loving God and the people in our worlds.

BEYOND NEWHOPE

Beyond newHope is the team of people within newHope who ensure that everything we do as a church is mission-shaped. They organise events and other ways for us to participate and partner with communities both locally and globally.

DAY OF FASTING

On or near the first day of each month, we practice a Day of Fasting. It’s an act of putting God first and cultivating a love and hunger for Him. As we abide in Jesus’ presence, we are loved and strengthened like branches of a vine (John 15).

CIRCLES (SMALL GROUPS)

Circles are the small groups at newHope. They come in different shapes and sizes - youth, discussion groups, courses, ministry teams, interest/sport/social groups. Circles are where people connect, support one another and share faith.
