Forget for a moment what you've experienced or been told about religion and spirituality.
Jesus has been the life-giver and game-changer for millions of people over the past 2000 years.
Jesus' life, teaching, death and resurrection is far and away the most influential story in human history. Jesus’ moral perfection, miraculous power, unprecedented teaching, personal sacrifice and most importantly His resurrection have literally changed the world.
Each of us find ourselves in the same boat - longing and wondering our way through life. CS Lewis put it this way when he wrote, "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world."
Friend, you were made to be a recipient of God’s love. No person, pursuit, position, postcode or possession can satisfy the deepest longing of our souls like the love of God does.
This is how we know what love is: That while we were still God’s enemies, Jesus died for us. God sent Jesus to make Himself and His love known to us, and to bridge the gap we as humanity had forged against Him and one another.
In Jesus we see and know God. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. Nobody comes to the Father (God) except through me." According to His very own words there were no alternate ways to knowing and experiencing God and His love - only through Him.
So we're left with one of three choices...
Dismiss Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, hoping that He is of no consequence to us;
Seek to discover if His life and words stack up; or
Become a follower of Jesus and begin to know and trust Him more.
Our heart as a church is to declare to you that Jesus loves you and that a life of knowing and trusting Him is the greatest life of all. Jesus wants to build and bless your life, not discourage or distress you.
